Brandon, can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey to becoming an expert in the real estate industry?

I grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I learned the value of hard work and team-work through sports. After earning a degree in Theology and a minor in Economics, I started my career in community service, working with youth and building relationships.

That focus on people eventually led me to real estate, where I saw an opportunity to solve problems for sellers and connect them with investors. Over time, I built my business by staying focused on creating win-win solutions.

What pivotal moments or key decisions led you to your current position in your career?

The biggest turning point was deciding to shift from community work to real estate. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I realized I could still help people by solving complex property issues. Another key decision was starting my own firm, Investor Deals Today, which allowed me to take a more flexible and solution-driven approach to real estate.

Thinking back to when you first started in real estate, what's the biggest challenge you faced and how did you overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges was learning the technical side of the business, like market analysis and negotiation. I overcame it by dedicating time to studying, leaning on mentors, and asking a lot of questions. The willingness to learn and adapt made all the difference.

Many aspiring entrepreneurs are drawn to real estate. What advice would you give them based on your own experience in building a successful business?

Start with a clear purpose. Real estate isn’t just about transactions; it’s about solving problems for people. Build relationships and focus on understanding your clients’ needs. Stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks.

Sales is obviously a huge part of real estate. What's your most effective sales strategy or tactic that has consistently yielded results for you?

For me, listening is key. People want to feel heard, especially in high-stakes situations like selling or investing in property. I take the time to understand their goals and concerns. That connection builds trust, and trust leads to results.

In such a competitive market like real estate, how do you differentiate yourself and your business from others?

I focus on being relational and solution-driven. Instead of treating sellers and buyers as separate, I view both as partners. My goal is to create opportunities that work for everyone. That mindset sets me apart from traditional agents.

Can you share an example of a time you took a calculated risk in your business that paid off? What did you learn from that experience?

I once worked with a seller who needed to offload a property quickly but wasn't sure it would sell due to its condition. I connected them with an investor who specialized in as-is properties. It was a risk because it required creative structuring and tight timelines, but it paid off for everyone. I learned that stepping out of your comfort zone often leads to the best outcomes.

The real estate landscape is constantly changing. How do you stay ahead of the curve and adapt to new trends and technologies?

I stay ahead by continuously learning. I follow market trends, attend industry events, and use tools like data analytics and CRM systems to improve efficiency. Embracing technology, like virtual tours and automated communication, has also been a game-changer for me.

What's one key piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the real estate industry today?

Be patient and persistent. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Build relationships, focus on learning, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Stay consistent, and the results will come.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Real estate is about more than deals—it's about people. When you focus on serving others and creating solutions, success will follow. Stay true to your values, and remember to enjoy the journey.
